Cirque la Compagnie is a Franco-Swiss circus created in 2014. Its co-founders met and trained at the Montreal Circus School.

Their creations promote the values of collective circus where mutual aid and sharing are founding values. Acrobatics and risk are their main lines of work.

The first creation of the company is the act "Planche-Mat", gold medalist at the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in 2017. The company stands out for its strong acrobatic identity, its humor, its technical virtuosity, the limits they want to push and their creativity. Often, it is from their personal humor that their original and technically remarkable creations are born. If we can guess the singularity of each artist within this company, it is especially in the group that the artistic purpose makes sense. These characters are touching in their simplicity and their humor is communicative, provocative.

From there was born their first show for the public space - "L'avis bodon - Face A" (2016), which met with real success. They create "L'avis candon - Face B" (2017), the indoor version of Face A. Thanks to its creations Le Cirque, the Company has achieved international renown.

Today, Cirque la Compagnie has its own big top, tailor-made to reflect its ambition. It welcomes "Pandax", their new born show from a co-direction with Nico Lagarde.

Why the tent ?

The tent is an aesthetic, scenographic and artistic object in its own right. He carries dreams and his presence in the city is a strong act. Setting up your big top in the heart of cities helps to promote an artistic presence in a territory. A presence that allows you to take the time to build/live projects; a presence that encourages encounters.

The tent for its circular stage. For its relationship and its proximity to the audience. To be as close as possible to the sensations transmitted and emitted. The tent is a vector of emotion in itself but takes on its full dimension when it is inhabited by the artists and the audience.

It is also a way for Cirque la compagnie to have the workspace that suits it perfectly. Which meets the technical characteristics that circus disciplines require. It also imposes a unique way of life that is roaming, with the collective work it implies.

The place of the circus tradition is important for the company. The tent represents a part of the history of the circus and remains a very representative element of this art. We are a so-called "new circus" company, so our shows offer modern forms of staging. We want to participate in inscribing the tent and the circus in the present and the future.

We want to defend the presence of tents in the heart of the public places. This approach remains very important to us in a moribund social and political context.
